Commission - Sisyphus by AsheSkyler Commission - Sisyphus by AsheSkyler
Commission of Sisyphus trying to get that boulder up the hill. Until it rolls down again and he has to start all over.

For fun, I timed the coloring. Background, 30 minutes. Foreground, 20 minutes. Sisyphus, 20 minutes. Not counting all the interruptions for laundry, sippy cups, potty training, supper, and I forget what all else. I spent six hours today trying to get it done.

0.5mm and 0.7mm pencil. Blue from Photoshop.

I giggled for so long over that pun! :dummy:
Puns don't get enough respect.

Looks great, already! A nice, classic picture from Greek mythology.

I can hardly wait for the expression you'll give him. There's a lot of potential for giving this drawing a special touch in it. :)

Thankie! Right now I've sent to him three faces of determination, pain, and woe, each with a clean shaven and bearded version. I'm curious which one he'll end up picking. =)

Me too!
Wow! I hope he'll appreciate all the hard work you put into it. The one choice missing would be "joy at not being out of work". ;) Sorry (After months of unsuccessfully looking for jobs I seem to sort of start getting really silly ideas)! :)

Haha, in this economy, that certainly would be appropriate for Sisyphus! I've pretty much given up on being able to get a job.

Me too, for now. Seems like it isn't any different in Europe - no matter what country. :(

Aye. I think some countries like to pretend they're the only ones having problems (seems like it on my news stations anyway), but everybody seems to be having trouble. Probably the only stable people are the ones way out in the bush and sticks whose economy depends on herds and drought instead of money.

Probably not even those; there's a saying at my place that a farmer (or hunter or forester for that matter) who doesn't complain about some thing or the other all the time has either gone bananas or died. ;)

Haha, true that! I come from farmers and it's almost always a complaint about either not enough rain or two much, or the weather in some way not behaving as they think it should. :XD:
When not complaining about the deer eating all the peas, of course.
